People Can’t Stop Listening To Geoff Alpert’s Contemporary Jazz Album Open Your Heart

With changing times, comes changing music, the trombone used to be very prominent in music but
the times changing, it was pushed to the back of peoples minds. Thanks to Geoff Alpert’s incredible hard work and marvelous talent he has been able to make the trombone something people can’t live without! Alpert put his heart and soul into his new album Open Your Heart, and people are taking notice. With his contemporary jazz tunes and his talented use of the trombone Open Your Heart will easily become your new obsession.

“Open Your Heart” has an emotional intention behind it that is rarely present in music these days.  Geoff Alpert found his way back to music after the passing of his wife in 2002.  He took this loss and turned it into motivation to create a smooth jazz album that exudes positivity and good intentions.  Alpert attributes much of who he is to his extensive study of the martial art Ken-Ka-Kung Fu.

Geoff Alpert’s “Open Your Heart” is an album that has something for almost everyone.  The music is relaxing, uplifting, and intelligently composed.  If you haven’t yet, you can listen to the album on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

Smooth Jazz Artist Geoff Alpert Climbs To Number One Spot On Reverbnation Jazz Charts!

This past weekend smooth jazz artist, Geoff Alpert, hit the number one spot on the Regional San Diego Jazz Reverbnation Charts! The hard work that Geoff has put in to creating his debut album is really paying off. Being a self taught trombone player, Alpert spent many years perfecting his sound. He played tirelessly for years, but then took a break from his playing in the early 80’s to be a devoted father and husband.

After the painful passing of his wife in 2002, he went back to his roots and picked up the trombone once again and used the music as a vessel to convey his emotions. His newest album “Open Your Heart” comes at you with a mix of jazz, pop, R&B, funk and Latin sounds that can speak to anybody who listens. The album highlights Alpert’s exceptional trombone playing, which is something that you don’t hear regularly.

On a side note, if you happen to be in the Los Angeles area around May 1st, Geoff will be having a CD release party at the E Spot Lounge at Vitello’s in Studio City, CA at 8 pm. So come join in on the celebration of his debut album! And before you go, you can listen to the beautiful collection of ten songs on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

Geoff Alpert Releases Incredible Jazz Album Open Your Heart

Geoff Alpert’s new Jazz Fusion album “Open Your Heart” is a terrific collection of ten tunes that takes musical ideas and influences from not only the jazz universe but also funk, rhythm and blues, pop and Latin music.  The commonality between the tracks is Alpert’s superb and prominently featured trombone playing.

After over forty years of teaching Ken-Ka-Kung-Fu, Alpert attributes much of his musical inspiration to the qualities of love and sharing that his martial arts experience taught him. He has a constant focus on wanting to challenge himself in multiple ways, not just in martial arts but also his music. That can all be heard in his album which you can find on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.
