Smooth Jazz Artist Geoff Alpert Climbs To Number One Spot On Reverbnation Jazz Charts!

This past weekend smooth jazz artist, Geoff Alpert, hit the number one spot on the Regional San Diego Jazz Reverbnation Charts! The hard work that Geoff has put in to creating his debut album is really paying off. Being a self taught trombone player, Alpert spent many years perfecting his sound. He played tirelessly for years, but then took a break from his playing in the early 80’s to be a devoted father and husband.

After the painful passing of his wife in 2002, he went back to his roots and picked up the trombone once again and used the music as a vessel to convey his emotions. His newest album “Open Your Heart” comes at you with a mix of jazz, pop, R&B, funk and Latin sounds that can speak to anybody who listens. The album highlights Alpert’s exceptional trombone playing, which is something that you don’t hear regularly.

On a side note, if you happen to be in the Los Angeles area around May 1st, Geoff will be having a CD release party at the E Spot Lounge at Vitello’s in Studio City, CA at 8 pm. So come join in on the celebration of his debut album! And before you go, you can listen to the beautiful collection of ten songs on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

Geoff Alpert Draws Inspiration From Wayne Henderson In New Album Open Your Heart

Being a self taught trombone player, Alpert spent many years perfecting his sound. He took a break from his playing in the early 80’s to be a devoted father and husband. After the painful passing of his wife in 2002, he went back to his roots and picked up the trombone once again and used the music as a vessel to convey his emotions.

With the help of bassist Darryl Williams and musical director/keyboardist Gail Jhonson, he was inspired to make “Open Your Heart”. The album has an incredible mix of jazz, pop, R&B and funk which are very reminiscent of the sounds that we would hear from Wayne Henderson and highlights Alpert’s exceptional trombone playing.

You can listen to the beautiful collection of ten songs on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

Geoff Alpert Releases Incredible Jazz Album Open Your Heart

Geoff Alpert’s new Jazz Fusion album “Open Your Heart” is a terrific collection of ten tunes that takes musical ideas and influences from not only the jazz universe but also funk, rhythm and blues, pop and Latin music.  The commonality between the tracks is Alpert’s superb and prominently featured trombone playing.

After over forty years of teaching Ken-Ka-Kung-Fu, Alpert attributes much of his musical inspiration to the qualities of love and sharing that his martial arts experience taught him. He has a constant focus on wanting to challenge himself in multiple ways, not just in martial arts but also his music. That can all be heard in his album which you can find on iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon.

Blues Singer-Songwriter Sijay Gives Away a Free MP3 Download From His New Latest Album, Detroit Club

Combining his musical background with the urban lifestyle of Chicago, singer-songwriter Sijay has paved the way for his desire to make music outside the typical guidelines.  He has allowed himself to perfectly merge musical genres to create music that is in a league of its own.

In addition to producing all of his own music as well as music for other artists, he writes all the lyrics, melodies and even scores the horn parts! He has been said to be a mixture between Brian Wilson and Todd Rundgren.

You can’t really associate Sijay with one genre.  He incorporates Neo-Soul and R&B, with a Blues and Jazz influence.  His lyrics compliment the groovy yet edgy sound he achieves.  Transitioning from his last record, Sijay has established his musical talent.

Check out the Pulse Magazine full page feature article for more intimate info on Sijay.

To celebrate his new album “Detroit Club” and the upcoming holidays, his label is giving away the full length lead single, titled “Detroit Club”, when you sign up for Sijay’s newsletter.  To get your free download, Click here.

Sijay Releases New Latest Album, Detroit Club, and Gives Away Free Music Download

Sijay’s musical background and the urban lifestyle of Chicago has established a desire to not follow the typical music rules, and has allowed him to flawlessly merge genres to constantly create music that is in a league of its own. Fitting in has never been so out of style. Sijay’s album “Detroit Club” released on Tuesday, November 20 opens his audience up to a musical psyche molded into an intricate device that has been resting in a rich marinade of Neo Soul, R&B, and Jazz Fusion. The epitome of a triple threat, Sijay is a producer, songwriter and mixer. Most of the lyrics are about trials of human emotion, playing on common themes like love and loss from a different perspective. Many songs are about hypothetical situations occurring to an over-curious protagonist. Songs range from the goings on at a seedy night club with hot tubs on every other floor, to a chance encounter with a girl who wears clothes from the 80’s and spikes her hair every morning. In celebration of the new album “Detroit Club” and the upcoming holidays his label is giving away the full length lead single coincidentally titled “Detroit Club” when you sign up for Sijay’s newsletter. New Album, Detroit Club, From Chicago Based Singer-Songwriter Sijay Available November 20th

Sijay’s musical mind is a complex instrument that is a rich marinade of Jazz, neo-soul, and R&B for just over 22 years. Quoting Sijay, “Every note I sings is meaningful; combining beautifully crafted tones with a rich timbre that eludes even the most experienced singers. Drawing inspiration from personal relationships, alternate history paths, and long and winding road trips, I catalogue a tapestry of original music that brings my passion for originality to the forefront.” Sijay’s musical roots and urban lifestyle have forever disabled him from following any musical rules, and has allowed him to seamlessly blend genres to consistently produce music that is in a league of it’s own. Fitting in has never been so out of style. His new album “Detroit Club” will be released on November 20th. Check him out and let me know what you think. Click here to hear for yourself!
