Portuguese Brazilian Jazz Artist Beatrice Mason New English Song “Caramel” Hits #19 & #50 on World and Jazz Chart

Regardless of the fact that Beatrice Mason’s songs are sung in Portuguese, she corners the universal sound of smooth jazz making her popularity take on a steady rise in the United States.  Her latest album release just hit #50 on SmoothJazz.com. The College Music Journal (CMJ) recently ranked her album at #19 on their New World Music Chart, and her debuts at other core radio stations have been quite favorable.   Thanks to her enchantingly percussive take on Suzanne Vega’s 1996 hit “Caramel” - the CD’s one English language track is available in three sultry “Nite Life” and “Pop” remixes by Motown veteran Michael B. Sutton (Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson).

From her website:  “Mosaico: a musical mosaic of styles and sounds with the common thread of emanating from her native Brasil.  “Algum Mistério (Some Kind of Mystery),” Ana Clara Horta’s piano samba “Cortejo,” and a duet version of Raphael Gemal’s “Canto Só” featuring guest vocalist Edu Krieger. An artful video was also lensed for her version of Vitor Ramil’s “Foi no mês que vem,” a mix of tango and electronica.”
