Fans
of jazz and pop got a first look at rising vocal talent Jonny Drubel when he
sang the National Anthem at a recent Lakers game. The crowd reacted so positively
to Jonny’s powerful version of the Star Spangled Banner he received a rousing
round of applause. To be able to sing
the anthem without any accompaniment, nor any backing tracks is quite an
accomplishment (just ask Beyonce!). Drubel
is a newfound singer and songwriter who creates melodies relating mainly to
love. A touch of pop opera can be heard in his work as well.
