Rhett Mays Creatures of the Night Album Loved by Music Critics

Jason Hillenburg of Skopemag.com writes, “Originally born in the rather exotic environs of Calcutta, India, Rhett May enjoyed the fruits of living in such a vibrant culture for many eyars and started his first band early on in life after the sounds of 1960’s music like The Beatles, Steppenwolf, The Yardbirds and Cream migrated from the distant west into eastern culture.”  This is an all-encompassing first take on the musical inspiration behind Rhett May’s music.  His affinity towards both western and eastern influences turned Rhett into an incredibly well rounded artist in many musical spheres.   Having worked with incredible artists like George Harrison, Queen and Ray Charles and performing for cultural icons like the Queen of Bhutan has really resulted Rhett becoming an exceptional musician.  His newest album “Creatures of the Night” is a testament to this.  It is a rock-fusion work that encompasses much unusual instrumentation, grooves and writing styles that are absolutely successful in execution.  He also shot a video for the title track of the album that is gripping and will keep you watching until the last second.  You can watch the video on his YouTube channel.

Acclaimed Creatures of the Night Rock Album by Rhett May Surpassed All Expectations

Rhett May’s “Creatures of the Night” is truly an exceptional rock fusion album.  Rhett is one of the most promising musicians in rock today.  His music seems to improve with every album he releases. In a review by Lance Wright of GasHouseRadio Rhett is described as, “a performer who has been empowered by having another chance for his music to affect and entertain the masses and each of the songs on this new release embraces that opportunity.”

Rhett May, born in Calcutta, has had a diverse and multi-cultural career.  In addition to his superb skills as a songwriter and guitar player, he has also mastered the Sitar and worked extensively with eastern instrumentations that are rarely present in contemporary rock.  His song “Elixir of the Gods” really brings these eastern sounds to the foreground and makes them easily enjoyable for listeners from any background.  Another notable song is the second to last “Bella My Baby.”  Contrasting from “Elixir of the Gods,” this tune has an incredible old school rock feel that cuts hard and really shows off May’s phenomenal vocal skills.  In addition to this incredible thirteen-song album, Rhett also produced and released a video to go along with the title track.  It is imaginative, engaging and gripping and will keep you watching until the last second.  You can watch the video on his YouTube channel.

The Beatles Would Love Rhett Mays Incredible Rock Fusion Music Creatures of the Night

Rhett May recently released an incredible album titled “Creatures of the Night.”  The album is a rock-based work with incorporated pop, funk, psychedelic and jazz.  “Creatures of the Night” stands out as one of the best rock releases in recent memory and proves that rock n roll is indeed alive and well.  The album contains many original moments but, at times, also reminds the listener of the days of classic artists like the Beatles.  If the Beatles had been formed in this decade, they probably would have been influenced by “Creatures of the Night” for it’s revolutionary qualities much like the revolutionary musical ideas the Beatles had back in their time.

Each song in the album seems to evolve and move through distinct and different musical intentions creating an ebb and flow that lasts throughout the album.  It is one of the few albums released recently that really works as a cohesive listen all the way through.   In addition to the extensive effort put into the music, Rhett also filmed and released a brilliant music video to accompany the title song of the album.  It even has a twist at the end that is well worth the wait!  You can watch the video on his YouTube channel.

If you want to check more out of Rhett May’s music, he has a FREE DOWNLOAD up on Noisetrade of “Lexxi May”. If you love end up loving both of these tunes, then head to iTunes to get yourself a copy of the album.
